Archaeological and Anthropological Sciences - New requirements for geographical coordinates

Degrees/Minutes/Seconds (DMS) geographical coordinates of the sites mentioned in submitted manuscripts are now required for publication. A note should also clarify whether the location refers to the archaeological site, the closest modern town or another reference point. The authors should also specify the degree of reliability of the coordinates, i.e., whether they have collected the measurements themselves and with which technique, or whether they are reporting coordinates that have been previously published or reported. If the authors use previously reported coordinates, they should include an appropriate citation. If multiple sites are discussed, a separate file listing the different sites' coordinates can be provided as Supplementary materials, following the same criteria. If the reporting of a site's coordinates is not possible, or in the case that cultural heritage could be put at risk, we ask that the authors to contact the handling editor to obtain approval for opting-out of this requirement.
