Geosciences Journal

Founded in 1997, Geosciences Journal is an international journal that publishes geoscientific research articles in English. The journal is published bimonthly by the Association of Korean Geoscience Societies with the participation of the Geological Society of Korea, the Korean Society of Economic and Environmental Geology, the Korean Earth Science Society, the Paleontological Society of Korea, the Mineralogical Society of Korea, the Korean Society of Engineering Geology, Korean Society of Petroleum and Sedimentary Geology, Korean Society of Soil and Groundwater Environment, the Petrological Society of Korea and Korean Society of Earth and Exploration Geophysicists. Geosciences Journal has been co-published with Springer since 2008.

  • Call for papers: Advances in active tectonics of Korea: multidisciplinary approaches in fault and volcanic activities

    The Korean Peninsula is a typical slow-deforming area where the characterization of faulting and volcanism is challenging. With growing geohazard issues concerning the damaging earthquakes, active faults, and volcanic activities in the peninsula, academic and socio-economic interest in Korea's active tectonics (or neotectonic) has motivated various studies on its spatial and temporal features. Especially, recent emerging technologies and innovative multidisciplinary approaches have led to improved findings on the active faulting and volcanism of Korea. This special collection will feature advanced research on active tectonics in the Korean Peninsula, from local to continental scales, as well as new approaches to studying the slow-deforming area. We also welcome papers that disseminate state-of-the-artsets of data and models representing the most critical findings on the active tectonics of East Asia.
