KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering - Announcement about new manuscript submission

The Editorial Board of the KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering has an important announcement to share with you.
Starting from Year 2025, the KSCE J. of Civ. Eng. will be publishing with Elsevier. As a result of this transition, NEW MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS through the current Springer EM system will be blocked since April 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM(EST). However, papers that are already under review will continue to be processed in the Springer EM System until their reviews are completed, anticipated to be before December.

Q: What does this mean for authors who have already submitted manuscripts?
A: If your manuscript number starts with “KSCE-D-” and you have submitted the manuscript prior to April 30, 2024, 10:00 AM (EST), it will continue to be processed through the existing system (https://www.editorialmanager.com/ksce (this opens in a new tab)) until a final decision is reached. We will do our best to complete the review of all manuscripts submitted to Springer by end of this year.
Q. I am an author submitting a revised manuscript. Should I resubmit my paper in the Springer EM or Elsevier EM?
A. If your manuscript number starts with “KSCE-D-” and your paper was originally submitted prior to April 30, 2024, please resubmit your manuscript to the Springer EM system. And please resubmit your paper as soon as possible, as the Springer EM system will run until December 2024.
Q: How can I distinguish whether I submit it through Springer or Elsevier?

Q: Do I need to sign up for a new Elsevier EM system to submit a manuscript?
A: Yes, if it is a new submission after April 30, 2024, you will need to register and submit through the new Elsevier EM system: http://www.editorialmanager.com/KSCEJ (this opens in a new tab)
Q: What does online publication mean?
A: The online publication means that all our publishing activities are conducted online. As a result, we will no longer be printing hard copies.
Q: Why is there a change in publishers?
A: The transition to Elsevier aligns with our commitment to enhancing accessibility and global reach for our published research.
