Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University (Science) - Call for Papers: Special Issue on "Wearable Sensors and Systems for Biomedical Applications (WSSBA)"

The increasing availability of wearable sensors introduces enormous biomedical applications for personal healthcare, clinical diagnostic, and treatment. Portable and mobile solutions enabled by the wearable sensors provide secure, real-time monitoring vital physiological signal, such as electrophysiological signal, temperature, oxygen saturation level, allow early predication, rapid diagnostics and swift intervention for critical medical conditions, including but not limited to cardiovascular disease, neural disorder, stoke, cancers.

Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Science) (CN 31-1943/U, ISSN1007-1172), indexed in EI, Scopus, etc., sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and directed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is a strictly peer-reviewed, academic journal. It focuses on interdisciplinary research in medicine-engineering, which is the intersection, fusion, and penetration of modern medicine and engineering that is the latest development of different disciplines. This year, it plans to publish a special issue devoted to Wearable Sensors and Systems for Biomedical Applications (WSSBA). The goal of this special issue is (i) to provide a broad perspective of wearable devices; (ii) to promote cross-disciplinary collaboration in this emerging research field; and (iii) to report the state-of-art development of these devices and algorithm with translational potential into the clinics. This special issue broadens the understanding for members in the community of wearable devices, provides detailed insight for system and algorithm implementation, and enables technology translation from biomedical engineering to the life sciences.

Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Science) publishes original research papers and review articles describing original circuits, systems and signal processing (experimental or clinical) which are solicited for this special issue, covering a range of biomedical and healthcare biomedical sensor-related topics, including but not limited to:

  1. Low-power, Low-Noise Circuits for Wearable Sensors
  2. Wireless Integrated Sensor Microsystems and Circuits
  3. Highly Sensitive and Specific Sensor Interface Circuits and Signal Processing
  4. Artificial Intelligence Algorithms/Circuits and for Sensor Reasoning, Classification and Decision
  5. Power Management and Energy Harvesting Circuits for Wearable and Flexible Devices
  6. Flexible Sensor Interface Circuits and Systems
  7. Portable Biomedical Sensing and Imaging Circuits and Systems
  8. Hybrid Biofeedback and Closed-Loop Systems
  9. BioMEMS and Lab-on-Chip Sensor Interface Circuits and Systems
  10. Smart Packaging for Wearable and Flexible Devices
  11. Comfortable Home Monitoring Sensor Circuits and Systems

Each article is required to have a normal length of 5000–6000 words, no more than 10000 words. Only English article will be considered for review and publication.
