Frontiers of Optoelectronics - Call for Papers_Special Issue on "Halide Perovskites: from Materials to Optoelectronic Devices"

Guest Editors:

Prof. Jiang Tang, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China

Prof. Dehui Li, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China

Perovskite compounds have been studied for decades, but extensive attention was aroused only after the discovery of high-efficiency solar cells. With a typical structure of ABX3, perovskites have remarkable material- and structure-related optoelectronic properties, including tunable bandgap, high carrier mobility, long carrier diffusion length, strong optical absorption and high photoluminescence efficiencies. These outstanding features in association with simple thin film preparation and solution processability make them promising candidates as new materials for not only solar cells, but also photodetectors, light-emitting diodes, lasers, displays, and etc. In order to promote further research into the basic physics of perovskite materials for novel designs of high performance optoelectronic devices, Prof. Jiang Tang and Prof. Dehui Li (Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China) are organizing a special issue on halide perovskites: from materials to optoelectronic devices. Submission deadline is March 30, 2020.

This special issue will cover recent advances in basic physics, engineering and fabrication of perovskites and provides perspectives on the challenges and research opportunities of perovskite-based optoelectronic devices. The topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Optical excitation dynamics and carrier dynamics in perovskites
  • Understanding of perovskite crystallization process for better performing devices
  • Long-term stability of perovskite materials and devices
  • Dimensionality engineering of perovskites by combining low dimensional perovskites with conventional 3D perovskites
  • Lead-free perovskites with similar optoelectronic properties
  • Reproducibility issues and mitigation of hysteresis in perovskite-based devices
  • Design and optimization of perovskite materials and devices that benefit light emission and detection
  • Low-dimensional perovskites for optoelectronic applications
  • Nanostructured perovskite cavities and metasurface

Article types include: review article, research article and letter.
