One of the pioneering female anthropologists who ushered in a new era of women’s scholarship in anthropology, Jane wrote a series of landmark publications on the female life course, parental investment, the division of labor, parenting strategies, pregnancy, women’s and men’s sexual behavior, life history theory, and the demographic correlates of paternity."
