Indian Journal of Microbiology - Special Issue 2024: Recent Advancement in Microbial Bioprospection toward Sustainable Developmental Goals

In recent times, microbial bioprospection has taken significant steps towards addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined by the United Nations. These encompass a wide spectrum of critical global objectives including poverty reduction, healthcare improvement, food security, access to clean water, climate mitigation, and preservation of biodiversity. The potential of this field including the recent advances in pharmaceuticals and biofuels, as well as its applications in agriculture and environmental remediation, has gathered lot of attention and importance in light of the challenges posed by climate change, resource depletion, and emerging diseases. Our forthcoming special issue, titled "Advancements in Microbial Bioprospection for Sustainable Developmental Goals," seeks to bring together experts from around the world and will showcase pioneering research, applications directly relevant to the SDGs, interdisciplinary collaboration, discussions on ethical considerations, and assessments of economic and societal impacts. Our goal is to foster innovation and make a meaningful contribution to a sustainable and resilient future in our pursuit of the SDGs.

The Special Issue focus on UN's SDG 2, 3, 14 & 15
