Submission Status: Open   |   Submission deadline: 1 July 2024

Summary and scope
This Special Issue focuses on creative and practical ways for designing and manufacturing green composites. It overcomes traditional approaches limitations by incorporating powerful computer-aided design (CAD) tools, simulation techniques, and novel design approaches. Novel manufacturing processes, such as additive manufacturing, enable the precise and efficient construction of complex composite structures. These innovations have a huge impact on different industries, changing the production of lighter, stronger, and more efficient green composite materials.

  • Innovative techniques for sophisticated composite manufacturing and design.
  • Integration of CAD, simulation, and innovative design to overcome limitations.
  • 3D printing, automated fibre placement revolutionizes precise composite fabrication.
  • Implications of lighter, stronger, and more efficient composites across industries.
  • Surface treatments for green composites.
  • Manufacturing of green composites and its applications
  • Green composites in Industry 4.0 for sustainable production.
  • Sustainable design and manufacturing of lightweight composites.

Submission guidelines
All papers must be prepared in accordance with the Instructions for Authors (this opens in a new tab). Authors should submit through the online submission site (this opens in a new tab) and select article type “SI - Futuristic Trends in Design, Manufacturing and Computational Aspects of Green Composites".

Submitted papers should present original, unpublished work, relevant to one of the topics of the special issue. All submitted papers will be evaluated on the basis of relevance, significance of contribution, technical quality, scholarship, and quality of presentation, by at least two independent reviewers. It is the policy of the journal that no submission, or substantially overlapping submission, be published or be under review at another journal or conference at any time during the review process. Final decisions on all papers are made by the Editor-in-Chief.
