Summary and scope
The Special Issue on the Recent Advances in Materials, Manufacturing and Machine Learning is dedicated to publishing high-quality and original research in the field of computer modelling and simulation for Materials, Manufacturing.

The main objective of this Special Issue is:

  • To publish outstanding papers presenting cutting-edge advances in the field of simulation and optimization of Manufacturing Engineering, Machine learning algorithms for manufacturing, manufacturing system simulation and modeling for materials processing.
  • To explore the evolution of advanced manufacturing models towards the new requirements of the Manufacturing Industry 4.0

Topics of special relevance within this Special Issue are contributions on emerging methods and technologies, such as those related to additive manufacturing and computer modeling and simulation of sustainability and environmental issues in manufacturing.

Submission guidelines
All papers must be prepared in accordance with the Instructions for Authors (this opens in a new tab). Authors should submit through the online submission site (this opens in a new tab) and select article type “SI - Recent Advances in Materials, Manufacturing and Machine Learning". 

Submitted papers should present original, unpublished work, relevant to one of the topics of the Special Issue. All submitted papers will be evaluated on the basis of relevance, significance of contribution, technical quality, scholarship, and quality of presentation, by at least two independent reviewers. It is the policy of the journal that no submission, or substantially overlapping submission, be published or be under review at another journal or conference at any time during the review process. Final decisions on all papers are made by the Editor-in-Chief.
