Journal of Marine Science and Application - Call for Papers
Special Issue on “Extreme Ocean Waves”
Dear Colleagues,
Extreme waves are waves with very large amplitudes and occur more often than previously assumed, threatening the safety of marine activities in both coastal and offshore regions. Many destructive incidents have occurred around the world because of these extreme waves. During the past decades, significant progress has been achieved in the study of extreme waves with respect to theories, in-situ measurements, numerical simulations and physical experiments. The Journal of Marine Science and Application (JMSA) will publish a Special Issue on "Extreme Ocean Waves”. This Special Issue will continue to focus on but is not limited to, the hydrodynamics of all types of extreme waves and their impact on marine structures, thus providing the state-of-the-art of all aspects of ocean extreme waves.
The Special Issue will address as a minimum the following topics:
- Freak/Rogue waves
- Storm wavesTsunamis
- Internal waves
- Wave-bottom interactions
- Wave–current interactions
- Wave-structure interactions
- Associated impact and slamming forces
We look forward to the submission of your manuscripts!
Schedule
It is aimed to have the articles submitted by 30 June 2022 so as to have the special issue published in late 2022.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions must be uploaded to the journal submission website: https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/jmsa (this opens in a new tab)
However, before submission, it is advisable to contact the Editor (jmsa@hrbeu.edu.cn) to ensure that the paper will be considered as part of the special issue.
