Frontiers in Energy - Call for Papers: "Special Issue on Toward Carbon Neutrality by Artificial Photosynthesis"
Frontiers in Energy (SCI, 2021 IF 2.964), one of the engineering journals of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (Transactions of CAE), is a multi-disciplinary and peer-reviewed international academic journal launched by Higher Education Press, CAE, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Focusing on “Cutting-edge, Interdisciplinary, and Innovative Research”, FIE is committed to building a high-level academic exchange platform for researchers, scientists, technologists, engineers, and decision-makers in the field of energy to publish original research results and discoveries.
The trillions of tons of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere has appeared as the most critical challenge in the 21st century. Upcycling of CO2 into fuels and chemicals via artificial photosynthesis provides an ultimate solution for addressing this critical issue. Recent years have witnessed the rapid growth of artificial photosynthesis for solar fuels and chemicals production with inputs of CO2, H2O, and sunlight via different configurations like photocatalysis, photoelectrocatalysis, photovoltaic + electrocatalysis, and biocatalysis. Meanwhile, the pioneering utilization of solar fuels e.g., H2 and hydrocarbons has also attracted considerable efforts, and a series of encouraging progress have been made. Those combined achievements have paved a promising avenue toward carbon neutrality. To highlight those recent advances, Frontiers in Energy is launching a Special Issue entitled “Toward Carbon Neutrality by Artificial Photosynthesis”.
This Special Issue aims to report on recent progress and developments in artificial photosynthesis, and the recent progress of the applications of solar fuels. Submitted manuscripts (Comments, Research Articles, Mini reviews/Reviews, Viewpoints, Perspectives) should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a peer-review process.
