The thermal process for the production, storage, utilization and conservation of energy, and the thermal interaction between indoor and outdoor environments is important for maintaining the built environment. The Special Issue aims to gather recent research findings or review articles addressing the problems and future challenges in the thermal built environment. The Special Issue covers the following topics:

Energy conservation and balances in the built environment;Thermal energy storage technologies and their applications to the built environment;Heating, cooling, refrigeration, ventilation and other solutions for the built environment;Thermal performance, comfort and air quality of the built environment and their impacts on human beings.

The Special Issue will mainly collect and publish excellent papers presented in the ‘2nd International Chinese Conference on Energy and Built Environment’. We also welcome submissions from foreign scientists. 20 papers are expected to be included in the Special Issue.
