Although this special issue is linked to the ICVNS 2021 conference, this Call for Papers is open to the entire community of academics and practitioners. This special issue is devoted to the most recent advances in the VNS methodology that are of theoretical or applicable interest. We solicit contributions covering a wide range of topics, including the following: theoretical or empirical analysis of VNS, new variants of deterministic and stochastic VNS, VNS and machine learning, VNS matheuristics, multi-objective VNS, parallel VNS.
