SI: Synergy between Variable Neighborhood Search and Machine Learning
The Variable Neighborhood Search (VNS) metaheuristic is based on systematic changes in the neighborhood structure within a search, and has been successfully applied for solving various combinatorial, global optimization problems, and related tasks.
A special issue of Optimization Letters (I.F.: 1.399, SJR: 0.779) will be edited after the 7th International Conference on Variable Neighborhood Search (ICVNS 2019), which was recently held in Rabat, Morocco, October 3-5, 2019. Although this special issue is linked to the ICVNS 2019 conference, this Call for Papers is open to the entire community of academics and practitioners. This call is about innovative research on theoretical, methodological or applied aspects of VNS with particular emphasis on contributions combining Variable Neighborhood Search and Machine Learning. The objective of this special issue is to highlight the powerful aspect of this combination in solving complex optimization problem.
Manuscripts should be prepared using Springer’s LaTeX macro package and submitted through the journal's editorial manager http://optl.edmgr.com. Each paper will be peer-reviewed according to the editorial policy of Optimization Letters. Papers should be original, unpublished, and not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
The paper submission deadline is June 1, 2020.
