A journal devoted to research at the interface of the life and mathematical sciences
The Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, the official journal of the Society for Mathematical Biology, disseminates original research findings and other information relevant to the interface of biology and the mathematical sciences. Contributions should have relevance to both fields. In order to accommodate the broad scope of new developments, the journal accepts a variety of contributions, including:
All contributions are peer-reviewed.
If your institution has a Read and Publish (Springer Compact) agreement, you may publish your article open access - at no cost to you - in more than 1,850 Springer hybrid journals, including the Bulletin of Mathematical Biology. In addition, you can enjoy full access to all Springer subscription journal content.
The Bulletin of Mathematical Biology awards a series of prizes, funded by Springer, linked to papers published in the journal.
It is the policy of the Bulletin to enable, and even to encourage and initiate the publication of special issues from time to time.
As a result of the significant disruption that is being caused by the COVID-19 pandemic we are very aware that many researchers will have difficulty in meeting the timelines associated with our peer review process during normal times. Please do let us know if you need additional time. Our systems will continue to remind you of the original timelines but we intend to be highly flexible at this time.
