The Journal of Natural Medicines is the Official Journal of The Japanese Society of Pharmacognosy. 

The Japanese Society of Pharmacognosy (JSP) was founded in 1947. The Society serves to promote research in the field of pharmacognosy and related fields to provide the members with the opportunities for presentations, exchange of knowledge, and cooperation/coordination among relevant societies. The Society currently has over 1,300 members including regular, student, supporting, and honorary categories. The society's primary scope lies in the chemical, biochemical and biological properties of medicinal natural products and their derivatives. Research topics include the search for novel medicinal sources, structure elucidation, chemotaxonomy, genetic analysis, pharmacology, and biosynthesis.
