Adaptive Behaviours under Risk and Uncertainty

Publishing model:

Aims and scope

Mind & Society is a peer-reviewed journal founded by Herbert Simon and other cognitive scientists, for ideas, analyses, discussions and investigations on the interaction between the human mind and the societal and economic environment. Minds and environments are broadly constructed to include entities such as AIs, businesses and governments. The focus of the journal is on adaptive behaviours in situations characterized by risk and uncertainty, as well as complexity and unpredictability. Priority themes are bounded and ecological rationality, problem solving and embodied cognition.

Scholars from all fields of inquiry in cognitive sciences who are interested in these interactions are invited to submit their work. The journal welcomes diverse contributions including, but not limited to, empirical case studies, theoretical analyses and formal modelling or secondary data analyses and conceptual work, as long as high standards of originality, significance and rigour are met.
