Solar Physics - 2022 Kees de Jager Prize

For the Best Article in the journal Solar Physics of 2021

The Kees de Jager Prize, established in 2021, is awarded annually by Springer Nature to the best article in the journal Solar Physics. The winner is selected by the Editors and the Advisory Board from all publications of the previous year.
 

The 2022 Kees de Jager Prize is awarded to Stephanie L. Yardley and co-authors (DIPC / MSSL, University College London / University of St Andrews) for the article “Simulating the Coronal Evolution of Bipolar Active Regions to Investigate the Formation of Flux Ropes“ (this opens in a new tab) Sol Phys 296, 10 (2021).


We hope to be able to award the prize in person at the National Astronomy Meeting (NAM 2022) in Warwick on 14 July 2022.

This award is honoring the founding editor of the journals Solar Physics and Space Science Reviews as well as the book series Astrophysics and Space Science LibraryCornelis "Kees" de Jager (this opens in a new tab), who passed away in 2021 at the age of 100, and is acknowledging the work of our authors by highlighting outstanding research articles. It carries a certificate and a cash award of €1000 sponsored by Springer Nature.
