Solar Physics invites nominations and statements of interest for an editor position

The journal Solar Physics (this opens in a new tab), published by Springer Nature B.V., solicits nominations and statements of interest to fill a position as Editor for candidates with strong research credentials, proven ability to exercise scientific and professional judgement, and diligence in respecting deadlines. Candidates from all areas of solar physics research are encouraged to apply.

The mission statement of the journal is “All aspects of solar physics are reported on. Coverage ranges from the internal structure of the Sun and its evolution to the outer corona and solar wind in interplanetary space. Solar Physics publishes articles on solar-terrestrial physics and on stellar research as well, where they contribute directly to our understanding of the Sun.”

The new Editor will join continuing Editors (this opens in a new tab)John Leibacher, Cristina Mandrini, and Lidia van Driel-Gesztelyi with shared responsibility for the solicitation, review, disposition, and production of accepted manuscripts.

Please send a nomination or brief statement of interest and qualifications, along with the names of three potential references by 1 September 2021 to SolarPhysicsEditors@gmail.com.  Please feel free to contact any of us to discuss this exciting and rewarding opportunity.  We will start considering applications on 1 September 2021, with the objective of filling the position by 1 November 2021, but the search will remain open until the position is filled.
