Claudio E. Benzecry

Claudio E. Benzecry is an associate professor of communication studies at Northwestern University and a sociologist interested in culture, arts, knowledge and globalization. His book, The Opera Fanatic. Ethnography of an Obsession (University of Chicago Press, 2011), received multiple awards from the American Sociological Association. He's also the Editor of three volumes on theory, culture and knowledge. He’s currently writing a book about fashion, creativity and globalization, entitled The Global Shoe: the Work of Creativity Across Borders. He will be accompanied by the Editorial Manager, Amy Ross


Andrew Deener

Andrew Deener is an associate professor of sociology at the University of Connecticut. His research interests include urban sociology, knowledge, infrastructure, organizations, and consumption. He is the author of Venice: A Contested Bohemia in Los Angeles (University of Chicago Press 2012). He recently completed, Feeding Cities: Abundance, Scarcity, and the Transformation of the American Food System, an historical and ethnographic book about the changing relationship between food distribution and urban infrastructure from 1880 to the present. He will be accompanied by the Editorial Manager, Jessica Yorks.
