Pastoral Psychology - Author Submission Checklist

Please make sure your manuscript complies with the following checklist before you submit it to Pastoral Psychology. For more detailed information on formatting, see the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed.) and the submission guidelines (this opens in a new tab) for Pastoral Psychology.

  • Page numbers (if available) are given for all quoted material
  • All quotations are accurate
  • Headings are formatted as follows (do not use Word styles to format the headings):
    • Level 1: flush left, bold, sentence case capitalization
    • Level 2: flush left, not bold, sentence case capitalization
    • Level 3: indented, bold, sentence case capitalization, ending with a period; text begins on the same line and continues as a regular paragraph. 
  • Organize the paper into sections by adding subheadings 
  • All references cited in the text are listed in the reference list and vice versa
  • Titles in the reference list are capitalized sentence case (see Section 6.17 in the APA Manual of Style, 7th ed.)
  • All references are complete and consistent with APA guidelines; DOI’s are provided, if available
  • No field codes are used (e.g., field codes inserted by reference management software)
