Optical and Quantum Electronics - CALL FOR PAPERS: Recent Advances of Advanced Functional Materials for Optics, Lasers and Photovoltaics Applications

New Content Item

The technological development requires the involvement of new low-cost, efficient materials and to establish new technical methods. Synthesis or fabrication of Advanced Functional Materials with desired and expected properties are very important for future applications. Processes based on the interaction of light with matter have become important for the various optoelectronics application. The search of materials for luminescence, amplified spontaneous emission, lasing, generation of second harmonic of light or two photon fluorescence, is one of the important subjects of modern photonics and nanotechnology. Such materials of potential uses in photonics devices should exhibit also several other NLO properties. Therefore, extensive research efforts have been devoted to developing these materials in terms of their synthesis, engineering, functionalization, and applications.

This Special Issue, entitled “Recent Advances of Advanced Functional Materials for Optics, Lasers and Photovoltaics Applications” aims to present the state-of-the-art and recent advances in the field of these materials properties and applications, including (but not limited to):

  •  Materials for Nonlinear Optics
  •  Materials for Lasers and their  Applications
  •  Advanced Functional Materials for Photonics and Nanophotonics
  •  Materials for Optics and Optoelectronic Devices
  •  Advanced Functional Materials for Photovoltaic Effects
  •  Transport Properties
  •  Photovoltaics, Energy Applications and Energy Harvesting

Moreover, experimental and theoretical contributions are welcome, including full papers, and reviews to obtain a complete snapshot of the ongoing research activity in the field of advanced materials for optoelectronics applications. This issue presents a unique opportunity for discussions on recent emerging trends and prospects of the hot topics such as nanophotonics, nonlinear optics, applied photonics, optical limiting properties and also photovoltaic applications.
