Call For Papers: Self-assembled Functional Nanomaterials and Devices in Asia

December 2021

This Special Issue focuses on self-assembled functional nanomaterials and devices. Inspired by various hierarchical structures in nature, self-assembly is one of the most efficient methods to produce functional materials and devices. The properties of nanomaterials, i.e., electrical, optical, magnetic, and mechanical can be greatly enhanced and tuned according to demand by controlling the self-assembly process and structures. Smart materials, which have stimuli-response properties can be realized by tunning the non-covalent interactions of the functional molecules. Moreover, high performance or even devices that have promising applications in optoelectronics, sensors, energy, and artificial intelligence can also be achieved by above-mentioned materials. Asian scientists are quite active in this field, aiming to understand the mechanisms of self-assembly, the functions of the materials and their applications in different devices.

This Special Issue covers all the fields related to self-assembled functional nanomaterials and devices, but special attention will be given to the following aspects:

  • Mechanism of self-assembly.
  • Preparation of functional materials by self-assembly.
  • Hierarchical structure control in the functional materials.
  • Optimization of the charge carrier and ionic transport properties by self-assembled structures.
  • Control of Self-assembly process by external fields.
  • Application of functional nanostructures in various devices.
  • Modeling and simulation of self-assembling.

Authors are welcome to submit their latest research in the form of original full articles, communications, or reviews on these topics.
