Multimedia Tools and Applications announces a new section dedicated to Medical Imaging, a field that consistently leverages technological advancements and contributes significantly to biomedical advancements in early disease detection, diagnostics, therapy and its integration with big data. Moreover, in the era of IoT, the analysis, classification, and processing of multidimensional biomedical signals integrated with medical imaging stimulates the solutions to the real-world challenges exploiting AI or traditional image processing techniques.

This section welcomes novel research articles exploring various facets of medical imaging, encompassing but not limited to:

  • Integration of Medical Imaging and Big Data
  • Integration of Medical Imaging and Multidimensional Biomedical Signals
  • Segmentation of Medical Imaging
  • Medical Image Fusion
  • Learning based Image Registration
  • Image Acquisition, Reconstruction and Synthesis
  • Pattern Recognition & Machine Learning
  • Cell and Molecular Imaging

Submission Guidelines
Authors should prepare their manuscript according to the Instructions for Authors available from the Multimedia Tools and Applications website (this opens in a new tab). Authors should submit through the online submission site at https://www.editorialmanager.com/mtap/default.aspx (this opens in a new tab) and select “Track 8: Medical Imaging” when they reach the “Article Type” step in the submission process. Submitted papers should present original, unpublished work, relevant to the topics of the track. All submitted papers will be evaluated on the basis of relevance, significance of contribution, technical quality, scholarship, and quality of presentation, by at least three independent reviewers. It is the policy of the journal that no submission, or substantially overlapping submission, be published or be under review at another journal or conference at any time during the review process. Final decisions on all papers are made by the Section Editor.
