Mobile Networks and Applications - Call for Papers: Nonlinear Signal Processing, Communication and Networking

Overview:

Computer networks, communication systems, and other IT infrastructures have caused severe environmental problems by consuming significant amounts of power, increasing greenhouse gas emissions, and lead to pollution during the production and disposal. To reduce such environmental problems and create a sustainable environment, energy saving technologies recently attracted significant attention from academia and industry, new energy models, algorithms, methodologies, platforms, tools and systems are pressing. Meanwhile, the state of the art techniques and its applications in experimental and computational studies of Nonlinear Dynamics is also widely used in the environmental problems. The ubiquity of nonlinearity in nature allows for a broad, constructive and practical perspective on systems as diverse as coupled mechanical oscillators, n-body systems, optical devices, chemical reactions, to name just a few active traditional fields, as well as new exciting areas made at the interfaces between multiple traditional fields. Although these emerging techniques have drawn considerable attention and have been studied recently, there are still many open theoretical and practical problems to be addressed. Specifically, most of the existing works have focused on optimizing a single objective, such as energy efficiency. Since there are multiple conflicting objectives, multi-objective strategies are required to be considered in order to achieve a good tradeoff among the conflicting objectives. This special issue aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the state of the art in theory and practice in green communication and networking, IoT, light and lighting systems, etc., which will bring together researchers from academia and industry to promote the research and development needed to address the major challenges that pertain to this cutting-edge research topic.

Prof. Xin Liu, Dalian University of Technology, China

New Content ItemXin Liu is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Information and Communication Engineering at Dalian University of Technology, China. He received the B.S. degree in communication engineering in 2006, the M.E. degree in information and communication engineering in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in information and communication engineering in 2012, from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China. From Jun. 2012 to Jun. 2013, Xin Liu did postdoctoral research in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His recent research interests include Cognitive Radio, Energy Harvesting, Satellite Communications and Cloud Computing. He has published more than 100 papers in refereed journals and international conferences. Dr. Liu is an EAI Fellow and an IEEE senior member. He served as an Editor of EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, Ad Hoc & Sensor Wireless Networks, Wireless network and Mobile Network and Applications. He also served as a technical program committee (TPC) chair for MLICOM and CHINACOM, and a TPC member for many conferences, e.g., Globecom, VTC, WCSP.
