Nikos Karamanos is a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Patras. He performed research at pre- and postdoctoral levels at Karolinska Institute. Dr. Karamanos is editor/EB member in several peer-review journals and books in the field of Extracellular Matrix and Matrix Pathobiology and chairman for a series of international scientific conferences. His research focuses on extracellular matrix pathobiology, cell signaling, cell functional properties, function translational studies and pharmacological targeting, preclinical evaluation/cytotoxicity and structure biochemical analysis with particular emphasis in the role of proteoglycans, glycosaminoglycans, matrix remodeling enzymes and epigenetics in health and diseases.
