Metabolic Brain Disease - Call for Papers: Topical Collection on 'Mitochondria in Neural Repair and Regenerative Biology'

Mitochondrial biology including their biogenesis, fission/fusion dynamics, autophagy and mtDNA mutations is undergoing dramatic alterations during neurogenesis, neural regeneration and more importantly, during aging. All the above-mentioned processes usually correlate with metabolic switching and fate decision of neural cells. Understanding the mechanisms of mitochondrial regulation in neural cells would help to uncover the biological underpinning of aging and to promote the development of regenerative modalities. This issue aims to collect articles scoping the aspects of mitochondrial function in biology and the utility of medications targeting mitochondria in neural development, adult neurogenesis, neural regeneration and repair, aging, etc. The submissions of review and research articles are welcome.
