Call for Papers: Advancements in Research on Choice and Autonomy in Persons with Developmental Disabilities

Guest Editors: Matthew T. Brodhead, Ph.D. (Michigan State University) and Thomas S. Higbee, Ph.D. (Utah State University)

Call for Papers: The Journal of Developmental and Physical Disabilities seeks original manuscripts for a special issue on the topics of choice and autonomy in persons with developmental disabilities. The goal of this special issue is to highlight, promote, and encourage a variety of research aimed to evaluate choice and autonomy (broadly defined) in individuals with developmental disabilities receiving behavioral interventions in a treatment context. Examples include research on stimulus preference assessments, treatment selection, and social validity of behavioral interventions. The journal encourages submissions of original research and also welcomes literature reviews and discussion papers so long as they stimulate future research. The special issue will be co-guest edited by Drs. Matt Brodhead and Tom Higbee.

The deadline for submission will be July 31, 2023 with an aim of publishing the special issue around early to mid 2024.

If you have questions about the special issue, please contact Dr. Matt Brodhead (mtb@msu.edu) and/or Dr. Tom Higbee (tom.higbee@usu.edu).
