In the arena of craniofacial regeneration, significant progress has been achieved in the last decade through the evolution of biomaterials and pioneering technologies. The fusion of cutting-edge biomaterials and innovative methodologies as well as following the principles of personalized medicine has yielded transformative outcomes in craniofacial tissue reconstruction, improving the quality of life of patients.

This topical issue invites for the submission of original research articles (ranging from fundamental research towards clinical investigations, as well as in vitro and in vivo studies), state-of-the-art reviews (both narrative and systematic), and short communications.

We encourage contributions that span a wide range of related topics, including but not limited to:

  • Recent advances in biomaterials for craniofacial regeneration
  • Scaffold design and fabrication methods for applications in craniofacial regeneration
  • Novel strategies in tissue engineering
  • Harnessing the potential of growth factors in regenerative approaches
  • Applications of gene therapy in craniofacial regeneration
  • Advancements in stem cell therapeutics for applications in craniofacial regeneration

Keywords: Craniofacial regeneration, Biomaterials, Tissue engineering, Scaffold design, Gene therapy, Stem cell therapeutics, Growth factors, 3D printing

Submission instructions:
All submitted articles must be original, unpublished, and not currently under review elsewhere. Submissions will be evaluated and accepted on a rolling basis.

Please ensure to select the relevant special issue name as a response to the question “Are you submitting this manuscript to a Special Issue?” under the Additional Information section during the submission stage.

The Guest Editors together with the Editors-in-Chief will oversee the editorial and peer-review process.
