Call for Papers on Challenges and Opportunities with Globalized Technology-Driven Innovations

Information Technology and Management is seeking submissions to a forthcoming Special Issue on Challenges and Opportunities with Globalized Technology-Driven Innovations.

Aims and Scope

There is little doubt that technology is one of the most important forces in today’s world. The Internet and its related businesses innovations such as e-commerce, big data, FinTech, and online platforms are quickly changing the landscape of many industries. While technology has made the world more interconnected, globalization has accelerated the spread and adoption of technologies. Although there are optimal promises in creating new growth and reducing global poverty, technology and globalization may also bring disruptive changes, challenge existing business models, increase uncertainties, and widen the gap between rich and poor. This special issue seeks the submission of high-quality research articles that are related to the broad topics of technology-driven industry changes, ranging from new business models and growth of platforms, to FinTech and knowledge workers in a globalized world. 

Topics of interest for the special issue include but are not limited to the following:

  • Role of big data in e-commerce operations and innovations
  • Mining of e-commerce data for sustainability or innovations
  • Use of new technologies to design and market green products
  • Impacts of online crowd sourcing in product design 
  • Innovations in production and design outsourcing 
  • Strategic examination of disruptive technologies such as FinTech in e-commerce environment 
  • Managing of disruptive technologies in an e-commerce channel 
  • Impacts of disruptive technologies on creating new economic growth and reducing global poverty 
  • Impacts of technologies on workplace and knowledge workers

Manuscript Preparation

We expect full-length submissions with a sufficient level of rigor consistent with the high standard of the journal. The submission can use any appropriate method to study the problems related to the theme of this special issue: analysis of data, mathematical analysis, game theories, etc. The authors should try to keep the papers to be no longer than 38 pages double-spaced in a font size of 11 and in Word or PDF format.
