International Journal of Wireless Information Networks - Call for Papers: Privacy and Security for Internet of Things

In recent years, Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized the world. In IoT anything can be connected to any other thing if they are connected to the Internet. IoT is already used in many real world applications such as manufacturing, smart grids, traffic management, smart city, pollution control, etc. Even though the applications of IoT are enormous, several challenges such as security, privacy, energy optimization, data management, etc., many industries are reluctant to adapt to IoT.

This special issue solicits quality research works that address the privacy and security issues in IoT. As many sensors and devices are interconnected to each other in IoT, lot of sensitive data from the source such as patients, customers, banks, etc. is sent to the cloud for central storage. The sensitive nature of the information transferred from the IoT devices to the cloud may attract several malicious users to get hold of those data. Even though several researchers from academia and industry have worked on providing privacy and security to the IoT, it is still an open research problem.

This Special Issue aims to reflect recent advancements in addressing the security and privacy issues in IoT. Authors are expected to submit their original and high quality original work on various solutions to address the security and privacy issues in IoT. The special issue accepts original experimental results, review papers and case studies. This will provide a platform for researchers to submit original manuscripts showcasing findings and exploring solutions to the security and privacy issues prevalent in IoT.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning for privacy and security in IoT
  • Edge/Fog computing for privacy and security in IoT
  • Big data analytics for privacy and security in IoT
  • Federated learning for privacy and security in IoT
  • Blockchain for privacy and security in IoT
  • Intrusion detection and prevention systems for IoT
  • Securing physical devices in IoT

Submission of manuscript deadline: February 15, 2022
First notification: January 31, 2022
Submission of revised manuscript: February 28, 2022
