International Journal of Thermophysics - Prof Marc Assael appointed as Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Thermophysics

We are pleased to announce that Professor Marc J. Assael (this opens in a new tab) (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece) has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Thermophysics (this opens in a new tab).  His tenure begins in January 2020, taking over from Professor Andreas Mandelis (University of Toronto, Canada) who steps down in December after five years in the role.

Marc Assael received his PhD from Imperial College London, and is currently professor of Thermophysical Properties, and Director of the Laboratory of Thermophysical Properties & Environmental Processes in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has held a visiting Professorship in Keio University, Tokyo, Japan, and an Adjunct Professorship in Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China.  He has published more than 200 papers in international journals, 28 chapters in books and co-authored 9 books including Thermophysical Properties of Fluids: An Introduction to their Prediction (Imperial College Press), and Commonly Asked Questions in Thermodynamics (CRC Press).

He has a long association with IJT going back to the very first paper published [1], and has ambitious plans for development of the journal as outlined here (this opens in a new tab)
