Call for Papers
Stem Cells in Sickness and in Health (closes September 1, 2020)
This special issue aims to provide insights into the role and regulation of Stem cells in healthy and disease tissues. Of particular interest is how their microenvironment impacts Stem cells within different tissues; how injury or disease-causing mutations affect Stem cell survival, stemness, differentiation, or regenerative properties; Stem cells in regenerative biomedicine; and comparative functional studies between Stem cell sources.
Viral Infection and Pathogenesis (closes October 1, 2020)
This special issue will cover the Molecular histology aspects of viral infections, including the functional changes in tissues following a viral infection, which provide insights into the mechanisms of pathogenesis and potential targets for cures or treatment development. Of particular interest are the effects of the most recent SARS-CoV2 on the lung, kidney, skin, and the nervous system, especially the distribution of the coronavirus spike protein and submissions focusing on the immune response during viral infections.
We will also consider papers on histological and molecular changes induced by other RNA viruses such as SARS-CoV, MERS, Zika, Dengue, Influenza, common cold, Hepatitis C, Ebola, Chikungunya virus or retrovirus HIV.
