Industrial Internet of Things for Intelligent Transportation System to Decrease the Environmental Pollution

Decreasing the environmental pollution is a main target to develop the sustainability economics in the world nowadays. In where, the shipping transportation industry plays an important role to develop the national economics. Additionally, the Intelligent Shipping Transportation Systems (ISTSs) are proposed and discussed in this special collection through the Automation Identification System (AIS) technique and Internet of Thing (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The main thrust of ISTSs is the reduction of marine fuel oil consumption on ships and underwater vehicles and of greenhouse gas emissions from operation processes. ISTSs are based on the design, implementation and application of Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator (EEOI) models for all types of ships and underwater vehicles. Then, the monitoring and measurement are criteria tools in the application engineering and industries. In when, the intelligent transportation industry plays a vital role in the economical development at each nation in the world. The operation and maintenance of ships are always regulated according to the international maritime laws due to International Maritime Organization (IMO) proposed. Especially, the development of intelligent transportation fleets increases gradually the economical aspect at each nation nowadays. Additionally, the development of intelligent transportation industry is always attached with sea environment pollution due to the operation activities and maintenance techniques. Hence, the finding techniques to develop the intelligent transportation system are significant nowadays. Then, Automatic Identification System (AIS) technique, Internet of Thing (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technique are the new techniques in the monitoring and measurement. Currently, the application of monitoring and measurement is more and more effective to control the exhaust gases emission control. Then, the research and development (R&D) are being conducted through proposing the optimal solution to improve the sea environment in particular and shipping transportation industries in general.

Due to, this special issue invites the research and review article, technical research contribute on seeking the optimal solution in the monitoring and measurement engineering.

This special issue seeks original unpublished papers focusing on theoretical analysis, emerging applications, novel system architecture construction and design, experimental studies, and social impacts of sustainable environments. Both review/survey papers and technical papers are encouraged. Topic areas include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Artificial Intelligence for controlling pollution level Measurement and Monitoring in Engineering
