Call for Papers on Strategic Planning for E-Commerce Business Environment

Electronic Commerce Research is seeking submissions to a forthcoming Special Issue on Strategic Planning for E-Commerce Business Environment.

With the advancements of new technologies in the digital space, the e-commerce environment is gaining more attention than never before. Also, the emergence of data analytics is shifting the perspective of e-commerce market by providing consumer-based experiences and reaching more customers online. To create successful online business factors like balanced growth and continuous survival with medium and long term withstanding strategies should be considered. However, without the establishment of managerial strategy, the opportunity in the online business cannot be optimized. For any business environment identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats is very important at the managerial level. Identifying and analyzing these crucial aspects internally and externally helps in constructing strategic decisions that can create economic value for the firm and also deliver better customer experiences. There may be many elements that influence the e-commerce environment negatively, like market crashes, technological Changes, up-gradation of products and services, customer satisfaction, and many more. Thus considering potential weaknesses & threats, and concentrating on the critical factors of e-commerce environment such as performance and demands decrease the conflict and increase the balance of the business. 

Managing an e-commerce business provides a global presence, whether the organization is a small or large enterprise. Whether it is a B2B or B2C type of business strategy, understanding the customer behavior and current market trends develops the e-commerce market more successfully. Apart from analyzing and predicting strategic models based on consumer behavior, ethical and user privacy-related challenges and corresponding solutions should also be analyzed strategically. Due to the rapid increase in consumer access to the web, the opportunity of gathering information has also increased concerns related to online consumer privacy and other ethical issues surrounding them. 

Deliberate strategic planning depending upon the developing economies and technological advances with a compelling vision can hold the e-commerce sector managing various challenges and hurdles providing a long term sustainable development. This Special Issue on “Strategic Planning for E-Commerce Business Environment " invite researchers and industrial experts from various geographical locations to contribute strategic ideas, methodological approaches, including conceptual, qualitative and quantitative researches used to enhance the E-Commerce Business.
