Dialectical Anthropology - Guidelines for Special Issue/Themed Section Proposals

Dialectical Anthropology (DA) welcomes proposals for Special Issues/ Themed Sections. Please submit a proposal of approximately 300 words to Editors with a title and outline of the aims of the issue/section. The proposal should also include a list of potential topics within the theme that will be covered and if possible, potential authors. The proposal will be reviewed by editors.The coordinators of the accepted proposal will be invited to serve as guest editors. If needed, a call for papers will be posted on the DA website with guidelines for potential authors.Each issue of Dialectical Anthropology will also include volunteered papers.

Guidelines for Guest Editors

  • Communicate with Editors re: timelines
  • Receive abstracts
  • Send list of abstracts to Editors
  • Communicate with authors re: deadlines for the submission of articles
  • Instruct authors re: how to submit manuscript. (see “Guidelines for Special Issue Authors below”
  • You will be able to log on to Editorial Manager http://www.editorialmanager.com/ as a Guest Editor and view the submitted articles
  • In consultation with Editors

(a) Select articles for external peer review

(b) Suggest reviewers for articles approved for external peer review. Reviewers will be informed that articles are part of special issue/thematic section

(c) Approve revised articles (Editors will oversee production)

  • Write Introduction


Guidelines for Special Issue Authors

  • Send abstract to Guest Editor for approval
  • In preparing your manuscript, the journal's “Instructions for Authors” on the DA website
  • Submit article using Editorial Manager http://www.editorialmanager.com/ (New authors must register)
  • Choose the “Article Type” of your manuscript from the pull-down menu. Then select “SI” with the Title of the Special Issue for your submission.
