Call for papers: Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Data Management

Healthcare data management is the process of acquiring, examining, and maintaining records of patients to offer quality treatment and other healthcare-related services to the end-users. To achieve this objective, the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is introduced in healthcare data management, where it uses sophisticated algorithms and techniques to process medical data to perform various healthcare-related decision-making processes. In particular, the use of AI algorithms adopts both supervised and unsupervised learning models such that it performs well even without predetermined learning models. Traditional AI technology in healthcare data provides knowledge collection, storing, and supplying the end-user with a well-defined output. This could be achieved by AI through machine learning algorithms and deep learning, where such algorithms resemble human intelligence that may detect trends in actions and construct their reasoning. The primary goal of AI systems in healthcare is to ensure the associations between preventive or recovery interventions and the effects of patients by checking periodically to reduce the error margin in health. The technologies of AI have been developed and extended to fields such as diagnostic procedures, clinical plan development, medication, customized medicine, and patient tracking.  This special issue aims to understand the clinical applications of AI in healthcare applications, specifically on data management. It will highlight significant advancements in various health care data management and analytics in healthcare.

The list of topics include, but are not, limited to the following:

  • Medical Informatics with AI for healthcare
  • Data management with AI for Wearable medical devices
  • Privacy and security in healthcare data management with AI and cybersecurity
  • Role of AI in Electronic Health Records
  • Health data prediction with AI and ML
  • AI and Ethical computational intelligence for health data management
  • Deep learning for medical image processing and decision making
  • Medical image segmentation and classification with deep learning and computer vision techniques
