Community Mental Health Journal - New Article Type: Fresh Focus

Community Mental Health Journal will now accept articles in formats (see below) that expand beyond research articles and brief reports.  This will allow us to explore content areas of relevance to our readers. The Journal is primarily interested in the following topic areas as impact the provision of community mental health services:

  • Social Justice
  • Issues related to optimal psychopharmacology
  • Community-based participatory research
  • Applied Conceptual Concerns
  • Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance

We can accept articles in any of the following formats:

  • Book review
    • Max 3 pages
  • Case presentation with discussion
    • This can include multiple discussants, and should include an academic discussion that links to the content area.
    • Max 16 pages
  • Point/Counterpoint  
    • These can include two or more perspectives.
    • Max 20 pages
  • Review article
    • Max 20 pages
  • Innovative practice
    • Max 16 pages

It is recommended that if you have an idea for an article for this section, you should contact the Editor in Chief (Sandra Steingard, sandysteingard@gmail.com (this opens in a new tab)) before you submit to ensure this is something we have an interest in publishing. All submissions will go through a peer review process.
