X-Ray Imaging, Intravascular Imaging, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Publishing model:

Aims and scope

The International Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging publishes research and clinical communications (research articles, review articles, brief reports and editorial comments) dealing with the design, development and evaluation of imaging methods and their clinical research applications used to study cardiovascular diseases. These imaging modalities include Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Multi-Slice Computed Tomography (MSCT), X-ray imaging, Intravascular Imaging (IVUS & OCT), Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. Clinical applications of the imaging approaches are used in the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with cardiovascular disease. Topics include among others: single- or multi-center studies dealing with validations of new or existing approaches, proof-of-concept of new innovations, risk stratification and prognostification, imaging utilization, including cost-effectiveness studies, applications for better characterization of the presence and extent of cardiovascular diseases, assessment of the efficacy of new drugs and interventional devices, multi-modality registrations, etc.

Target Audience:
Cardiovascular medical specialists (incl. in-training and fellows) and other health care professionals with an interest in cardiovascular diseases associated with imaging in the various imaging modalities, such as diagnostic cardiologists and radiologists, interventional cardiologists and radiologists, cardiovascular radiologists, imaging specialists, cardiovascular researchers, and cardiothoracic surgeons. In addition, medical physicists, scientists, engineers and informatics specialists working on the development of new imaging tools, as well as data processing / analysis for the study of cardiovascular diseases.
