Biogeochemistry - Early-Career Researchers

We’re happy to announce that we are creating an early-career researchers’ (ECR) board comprising of postdocs and late-stage Ph.D. students. The aim is for ECR’s to develop their skills as peer-reviewers under the guidance of experienced Associate Editors of the Biogeochemistry board.

Jin Fu

New Content Item

I graduated from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and from April 2018 on work as a post-doc at Peking University, China. My research fields are global environmental changes on terrestrial ecosystems and biosphere-pedosphere-hydrosphere exchange of nutrients, e.g. nitrogen and phosphorus. I mainly engaged in agricultural non-point source pollution, crop yields and quality in response to climate change and sustainable management measures. To understand the mechanism, temporal and spatial pattern of nutrients losses, research methods involving field experiment, statistical analysis of long-term observational data and process-based models.

Kelsey H. Jensen

New Content Item

I am a fifth year PhD candidate in the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Cornell University. I work in Jed Sparks' Lab where my research focuses on the effects of global change on carbon and nitrogen cycling in dryland ecosystems. I use fundamental methods of soil biogeochemistry, trace gas analysis, and stable isotopes to answer my research questions. I am passionate about finding ways to apply soil science directly to climate change mitigation, adaptation, and restoration.

Nolan Pearce

New Content Item

Dr. Nolan Pearce (BSc, PhD; Western University) is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biology at Trent University. Nolan’s research has focused on the effects of human activities on stream ecosystems. Current research interests include the biogeochemical processes that influence nutrient and carbon dynamics in freshwater ecosystems and how the composition/balance of macronutrients affect ecosystem structure and function.

Longlong Xia

New Content Item

Longlong Xia (PhD.) is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research (IMK-IFU), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. His field of study is Soil C and N cycles under climate change, greenhouse gases emissions, N2O isotopes, meta-analysis
