Welcome to Automated Software Engineering's New Editor in Chief

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Tim Menzies begins his term as Editor in Chief of Automated Software Engineering, succeeding Dr. Robert Hall, in December 2020!

Tim Menzies is a full Professor in Computer Science at North Carolina State University, where he teaches software engineering, automated software engineering, and foundations of software science. He is the director of the RAISE lab (Real world AI for SE), which explores SE, data mining, AI, search-based SE, and open access science.

He is the author of over 280 peer-reviewed publications and editor of three recent books on software analytics. He has been a lead researcher on projects for NSF, NIJ, DoD, NASA, USDA, as well as private companies. For 2002 to 2004, he was the software engineering research chair at NASA's Independent Verification and Validation Facility.

Professor Menzies was previously an Assistant Editor for Automated Software Engineering, and joins us with extensive journals experience, including Board positions on Empirical Software Engineering, Software Quality Journal, and more. He is co-founder of the PROMISE conference series devoted to reproducible experiments in software engineering. He was recently the Automated Software Engineering (ASE) 2020 conference Artefacts chair.
