An International Journal for the Science and Application of Composite Materials
Applied Composite Materials is an international journal dedicated to the publication of original full-length papers, review articles and short communications of the highest quality that advance the development and application of engineering composite materials. Its articles identify problems that limit the performance and reliability of the composite material and composite part; and propose solutions that lead to innovation in design and the successful exploitation and commercialization of composite materials across the widest spectrum of engineering uses. The main focus is on the quantitative descriptions of material systems and processing routes.
Coverage includes management of time-dependent changes in microscopic and macroscopic structure and its exploitation from the material's conception through to its eventual obsolescence.
As a result of the significant disruption that is being caused by the COVID-19 pandemic we are very aware that many researchers will have difficulty in meeting the timelines associated with our peer review process during normal times. Please do let us know if you need additional time. Our systems will continue to remind you of the original timelines but we intend to be highly flexible at this time.
After 25 successful years of the journal's publication, the soon to be retiring Founding Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Peter W. R. Beaumont, expresses his thanks to the community of dedicated editorial board members and reviewers within the ACMA community over this past quarter century.
Dr. Beaumont also welcomes and introduces his successor as Editor-in-Chief, Professor Maria Kashtalyan.
