Universal Access in the Information Society - CfP: HCI methods for addressing societal challenges: diverse perspectives and experiences

Authors of the papers presented at the 24th International Conference organized by the Spanish Human-Computer Interaction Association (Interacción´24, https://interaccion24.citius.gal/) are invited to submit significantly extended and improved versions of their conference papers for peer review and potential publication in this topical collection.
This collection seeks original research contributions on user experiences in different field of the human computer interaction with a on the use of new user interfaces, new methodologies and paradigms in the field of natural user interaction. The collection is also open to contributions from other authors with related topics.

Aims and scope of this collection

This topical collection will focus on research work on the theory, practice, and validation in the field of interaction in different case of use that can support and natural access. Contributions are solicited in, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • New user interfaces
  • New Natural User Experiences
  • Accessible User Interfaces
  • Inclusive HCI Methodologies
  • User experience and usability.
  • Evaluation of interactive systems
  • Methodologies and paradigms of NUI
  • NUI in Serious games,
  • NUI for health applications

Important dates

Deadline for submission of manuscripts: December 31, 2024 
Notification of reviewers' feedback: March 30, 2025 
Submission of final manuscripts: April 30, 2025
Notification of final acceptance: June 15, 2025

Reviewing process 

All papers will be peer reviewed by three reviewers, experts in the field, appointed by the Guest Editors of the issue in consultation with the Editors-in-Chief of the Journal.

Submission guidelines

Submissions should be prepared according to the author instructions available at the journal homepage, https://link.springer.com/journal/10209/submission-guidelines by following the link to the “Instructions for Authors”. Typical length of a manuscript is 20-30 pages.
Initial manuscripts must be submitted by using the 'Submit your manuscript' button on the journal page.
During the submission process authors should select the appropriate collection title when asked if the manuscript belongs to a special issue/collection.

Copyright information

Submission of an article implies that:
* The work described has not been published before, except in form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis.
* It is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
* For manuscripts that are revision of papers presented at INTERACCIÓN 2024 the submissions must be substantially enhanced and enriched, comprising at least 70% new, previously unpublished material (new title, new abstract).
