Dear all related colleagues of the Journal of Material Cycles and Waste Management (JMCWM)

The Journal of Material Cycles and Waste Management (IF 2.863 as of 2020) is currently running a special issue entitled Material Cycles toward Carbon Neutral Society. This special issue will explore the contributions achieving the net zero emission in material cycles and waste management sector. We expect excellent contributions based on your expertise and recent achievements in the following areas:

  1. Innovative technological development contributing to decarbonization
  2. System analysis on carbon neutral society, including material flow analysis and life cycle assessment
  3. Material cycles and waste management strategy from mid- to long-term perspectives

We are interested in field and laboratory studies, practical implementation, and system analysis. Studies focusing on sewage waste are also within the scope of this issue.
Please submit the manuscript in the form of Original Articles, Notes, or Regional Case Studies. All manuscripts for this special issue will be subject to standard rules and review process for peer-reviewed papers for JMCWM, including the reviews by at least two international experts. The deadline for paper submission is August 12, 2022  September 30, 2022. The accepted papers will appear in volume 25 around May or July 2023.

There will be no page charge for authors in this special issue. However, extra costs will be charged for the color illustrations. Instruction for Authors is available at the JMCWM site on Springer Link.

We encourage authors to send a tentative title and a short abstract to the Editor (Prof. Yasuhiro Hirai, in advance, if possible, by May 31, 2022.
