Marine Biotechnology - JSMB 2024 Special Issue Call for Papers

The 24th annual meeting of the Japanese Society for Marine Biotechnology will be held at the University of Tsukuba this May 25 – 26, 2024. This is the first time in 25 years that the conference has been held in Tsukuba City, since our third conference was held here in 1999. We look forward to welcoming many participants and invite you to view the conference website, http://marinebiotechnology.jp/mbt2024/en/ (this opens in a new tab)

The 24th annual meeting of the JSMB is organized with the aim of contributing to the academic understanding and use of the ocean based on biotechnology. The conference will cover a variety of research fields related to marine biotechnology, including cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, microbial ecology, environmental microbiology, bioactive substances, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, genetics related to fish and invertebrates, biomineralization, biomaterials, nanotechnology, and aquaculture technology. The symposium will promote understanding, dissemination, and development of the current state of marine biotechnology research, networking, and collaboration among industry, government, and academia.

Session category of general presentation include the following topics:

●Microorganisms
●Microalgae
●Macroalgae, Sessile organisms
●Fish and shellfish
●Natural products chemistry, unused resources
●Biomineralization
●Environment, environmental adaptation
●Others

The journal Marine Biotechnology will publish a Special Issue devoted to papers that are presented at the meeting and meet the above subject area criteria.  Submissions to this Special Issue will be accepted from May 26, 2024 through December 31, 2024, with an aim to publish the issue in 2025.  Submissions to this Special Issue can be made here after May 26th:   https://submission.springernature.com/new-submission/10126 (this opens in a new tab)
