Clinical Rheumatology - In Memoriam: Dr. Luis R. Espinoza

To our dear readers and friends,

Clinical Rheumatology Journal is in mourning.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the loss of our esteemed colleague and beloved friend, Prof. Luis R. Espinoza, who passed away a few days ago.

The rheumatology field has lost a great human being, an excellent clinician-researcher, a better professor, and an extraordinary scholar.

I can't say enough about the outstanding scientific level reached by our journal under the leadership of Luis Espinoza as our past Editor-in-Chief.

Over his prolific and very distinguished career, Luis has been a leader, educator, researcher, advisor, role model, as well as a good friend. As we reflect on the high standards that he set, we shall remember fondly the impact he made on the global rheumatology community.

On behalf of the entire Clinical Rheumatology Journal, we offer our most sincere condolences to Dr. Espinoza's family, friends, coauthors, residents, fellows, and colleagues in this time of grief.

We will continue the excellent work done by Luis, with the confidence that we will be able to honor the legacy of excellence, professionalism, collegiality, and critical thinking he maintained during his exemplary life.

He will be sorely missed.
