About the authors

Professor XIAO  Xi, Ph.D. of Jilin University (2004), serves as Distinguished University Professor, Dean of School of International & Public Affairs, Jilin University, President of Institute of National Development & Security Studies, Jilin University. She serves as Senior Research Fellow of St Antony’s College, University of Oxford, and was Visiting Scholar at Cornell University from 2008 to 2009, University of Oxford from 2013 to 2014, and University of Waseda University in 2015. Professor XIAO has published more than 80 articles in authoritative journals home and abroad such as China: an International Journal, Social Sciences in China and CASS Journal of Political Science, and won a number of provincial and ministerial teaching and research awards.

Professor MEN Honghua, Ph.D. of Peking University (2001), serves as Distinguished University Professor, Dean of School of Political Sciences & International Relations, President of Tongji Institute for China & World Studies, Tongji University, Director of Tongji Base for Research on International Governance of Cyberspace under the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) and the Ministry of Education (MOE), and member of the Steering Committee on Professional Teaching of Political Science in Higher Education under MOE. Prof. Men was Senior Visiting Scholar at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in 2003, Japan Center for Economic Research from 2006 to 2007, Eisenhower Fellowships in 2011, University of Oxford from 2013 to 2014, and University of Tokyo in 2015. Professor Men’s publications include 16 monographs, 52 edited or co-authored books, 5 textbooks, 16 translated books. He has published over 160 academic papers in professional journals such as Social Sciences in China.
