About this book

The proceedings volume focuses on halal management and science topics.  Issues related to business model, management, marketing, finance, food security, lifestyle, hospitality, tourism, cosmetics, personal care, legal aspects, technologies and sciences are presented in the chapters.  In addition, the book also covers comprehensive areas of halalan toyyiban chains of production from raw materials, ingredients, planning, manufacturing, packaging, logistics, delivery, warehousing, marketing to consumption. Various survey results and few cases explore practical solutions to these issues of interest to academics in university settings as well as practitioners in different industries and government agencies.

About the editors

Professor Doctor Faridah Hassan is director of the Institute of Halal Management and Science, Universiti Teknologi MARA. She has served on the national committees of 5 research projects and has published numerous ISI and Scopus-indexed articles. 



Dr. Ismah Osman is a senior lecturer at the Universiti Teknologi MARA. She has published research in the form of journal articles and proceedings contributions. 



Erne Suzila Binti Kassim works at the Faculty of Business Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA. She has contributed to 14 research projects and has authored several research articles and proceedings contributions. 



Dr. Balkis Haris is a lecturer of finance at the Universiti Teknologi MARA. 



Associate Professor Dr. Rohana Hassan is the Head of Research Operation for Research Management Centre (RMC) at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She also holds a position as the Head of Engineered Wood Product (EWPro) Research Group, Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM. She is formerly the Deputy Director of Institute for Infrastructure Engineering and Sustainable Management. She is also an Associate Professor and actively doing research in the field of timber engineering, engineered wood product, timber design and composites materials and also a regular invited speaker in the same field. Her research articles are published in indexed journals, books and proceedings locally and internationally. In addition, she is also invited as quest editor for journal publications.

Currently, she is actively involved in conferences and acting as Chairman for various international conferences.

She also sits as an advisory committee in product system certifier for Malaysian Timber Industrial Board, Malaysia.
