- About this book
-
This book highlights the latest advances in nanosized polymerized protein structures that are involved in cellular events. These structures have inspired the creation of innovative protein nanomaterials using genetic and protein engineering strategies, some of which are addressed in this book. These structures can be classified into three major groups: Cage proteins, viral capsid proteins and amyloid proteins.

Dr. Şeker is currently an assistant professor at the Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology at Bilkent University, Turkey. His research combines the synthetic potential of cellular programming methods with the unique properties of nanoscale materials to produce functional “bio-devices” for a variety of applications. He is also interested in designing and implementation of bio-nano sensors and protein/peptides.
