This book is designed as a comprehensive and up-to-date instructional guide to the strategies employed for regeneration of the maxillomandibular region, with emphasis on allogeneic and tissue engineering principles. Readers will find information on indications and contraindications for procedures, pertinent anatomy, surgical techniques, postoperative management, and management of complications. About the editors

James C. Melville, DDS, FACS, is Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral, Head & Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Houston, Texas, USA. He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Ann Arbor, MI, in 2005 and subsequently completed a General Practice Residency at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in 2006 and was appointed and served as an Assistant Professor until 2007. He completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2012 and then a Fellowship in Oral, Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Melville is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons, and American College of Surgeons. He hascurrently contributed to 6 chapters in major Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Tissue Engineering textbooks and is the author of more than 12articles in peer-reviewed journals. He acts as a reviewer for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Triple OOOO journal.

Jonathan Shum, DDS, MD, FACS, FRCD(C), is Associate Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as the Fellowship director of Oral, Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Surgery. He gained his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2005 and his Doctor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, in 2010. In 2011 he completed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Cornell, and he has since completed fellowships in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery (Head and Neck Surgical Associates, Providence Portland Medical Center) and Maxillofacial Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery (University of Maryland Medical Center/R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, Baltimore). He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (2015) and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (2016). He acts as a reviewer for several leading journals in the field. He is on the editorial board of Triple OOOO Journal. 

Mark E.K. Wong, DDS, FACS, FACD, is Professor with Tenure at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He took up this position in 2009 and has also been Chairman of the Department since 2001. Dr. Wong is a past president of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons. He is also President (2014–7) of the International Board for the Certification of Specialists in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Wong has received many honors and awardsand is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Dentists. In 2014 he was appointed as the inaugural Bernard and Gloria P. Katz Chair in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has acted as a reviewer for several leading journals and is lead or co-author of more than 50 original articles in refereed journals. 

Simon Young, DDS, MD, PhD, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry, Houston, Texas. He completed his DDS at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, in 2003, his PhD at Rice University, Department of Bioengineering, Houston, Texas, in 2008, and his MD at University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2011. He subsequently completed first an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and then a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Immuno-Engineeringat Harvard University, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Dr. Young is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is the author of more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
